Helping future filmmakers produce their first films is one of Women In Film’s top priorities. If you have a big idea, our grants can be a big help.

  • Dallas. WIF/Dallas offers an annual $3,500 WIF.D Project Grant to a female graduate student (or graduating senior) who is a Texas resident studying film or video at an accredited college or university in the North Texas area.
  • Kansas City. The KCWIF TrailBlazer Scholarship Fund awards a $1,500 grant, plus $1,500 in studio/editing time, to a female Kansas or Missouri student who wishes to pursue a career in filmmaking, media or entertainment and would otherwise not have the funds to produce a project.
National Grants:

Film Finishing Grants: Each year, ten to twenty independent filmmakers with projects in post-production are helped "to the finish line" by the Women In Film Foundation's Film Finishing Fund, a resource bank of financial and professional support and services.

The Acceleration Grant for Emerging Filmmakers and the Latina New Filmmakers Grant (Abiertas Puertas) both provide recipients with a broad-based understanding of the business of filmmaking though a five-day, full immersion mentoring program shepherded by members of WIF.

Check with your local WIF chapter to learn about other grants available in your area.
